JMack, Phro, and I were back at it this week, and this show is SERIOUS! To get things started we discussed our nomination for a VH-1 Hip-Hop Honors award. Later in the show we got Jay Casteel (CEO of Ballerstatus.com) on the phone to get his take on being nominated in the Best Hip-Hop Lifestyle Site category. We talked about NYC’s latest beef involving Saigon and Prodigy/Mobb Deep. We also covered Kanye’s first-week sales victory over 50 Cent, and we brought in Milk Dee of Audio Two to get his take on the entire Kanye vs. 50 marketing campaign. Milk also spoke at length about how many times Audio Two’s classic record “Top Billing” has been sampled, his behind-the-scenes success in the music game as a producer, and his video parody of 50 Cent’s “I Get Money”. We also continued our commentary on the Jena 6 situation (this is before we were aware of Bell’s release), and took a look at Jesse Jackson’s comments about Barack Obama’s involvement with the case. Episode #53 is jam packed with 6 fire tracks, so check it out. Don’t forget to vote for HoodHype at VH1’s Hip Hop Honors!

The songs were amazing, even the R&B joint Daily Struggle. If you guys talk to Sean C Johnson, tell him to figure out a way for International listeners to buy his music. I was all set to check out and I get bullshit about needing a U.S. credit card…and paypal didn’t work either.
